Lago di Misurina
Misurina is a district of Auronzo and lies on the shores of a magnificent lake, which, according to an ancient legend, was formed by the tears of the giant Sorapiss. This mythological figure has been honoured in a song composed by the renowned singer-songwriter Claudio Baglioni. Also known as The Pearl of the Dolomites, due to the outstanding beauty of the imposing and unique mountains that surround it and which recount the epic struggles of the climbers who strove to conquer them, it is a popular point of departure for rambles and excursions and a favorite with those who enjoy skiing, be it alpine, cross-country or alpinismo. Misurina is also renowned for the outstanding quality of its air.
